As I know firsthand, embarking on the journey of independence can be both exhilarating and overwhelming for young adults. In response to the unique challenges faced by those venturing into autonomy, I created "Dayglow" – a magazine meticulously crafted to serve as the quintessential cheat sheet for navigating the complexities of independent living.
Each issue of "Dayglow" is thoughtfully curated to offer digestible insights, practical tips, and expert advice tailored to the needs of young adults. The design allows for easy reading and comprehension, while still having just enough zest to be interesting while not making the information overwhelming.
The project's development was marked by a substantial amount of trial and error. I set a personal challenge to restrict the color palette, relying solely on the design to convey its message. The subtractive nature of the layout meant that any mistakes would be glaringly evident. My initial planning for the page layouts, depicted to the right and below, aimed for a more reductive approach, ensuring a consistent grid in the final printed product.
